A Work Experience Achievement
Throughout the year, some of our pupils arrange their own work experience during the school holidays to give them a taste of what life would be like in the world of work. Recently, one Year 10 pupil in particular couldn't have gained more experience when she spent a 4-day internship at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France!
Mia Ainscough travelled to France at the beginning of this month and, straight away, was thrown into what life is like working for this very important organisation. She spent time with all the departments including the International Court of Arbitration, Business Development, Member and National Committees, Policy and the World Chambers Federation.
The kind people at the ICC gave Mia every opportunity to get involved and she took part in preparing for a big international meeting as well as checking the English translation of a text which was originally in French.
There wasn't a moment's rest during the week as her days were taken up with meetings and other important work... oh, and hanging out with the ICC's Secretary General!
Mia enjoyed her time at the ICC and, more importantly, received a glowing report from the people she was working with, who said they appreciated the work she completed and she "showed that she could work on projects in a mature and precise manner".
Well done, Mia, and thank you to the International Chamber of Commerce!
