A Weekend of Achievement

This past weekend has seen an array of sporting achievements - some we've known about; others that have been sent to us by parents - but all have made the school proud.

A Dancing Hat-trick

Last week, Abbie in Year 10 took part in the Dance World Cup held in Romania. We were so pleased for her when we received a message telling us she had won a Gold medal in the competition - but then she didn't stop there! She also received a Silver and Bronze medal and gained the title of Best Song and Dance. Well done, Abbie!

Pretty Muddy

Saturday saw Emma Jayne, Ellie May and Amy - all Year 10 pupils - take part in the 5K Pretty Muddy Cancer Research Run in Sefton Park, Liverpool. As you can see, "pretty muddy" was quite an understatement but the girls went on to raise over £300 for Cancer Research. Well done!

Colour Run

It seems that, not only do our pupils like to run, they also like to get messy.
Also on Saturday, Kia and Alex in Y10 took part in the 5K Colour Run in Manchester raising money, getting messy and having lots of fun.

100-Mile Bike Ride

It's not just our pupils that get involved, our staff do their part, too, as Mr Santus and Mr Ashton proved when they completed a 100-mile bike ride over the weekend to raise money for Cancer Research. They rode from Deanery High School to Lancaster where they stayed overnight before the return journey on Sunday. They surpassed themselves by completing 103 miles and raised a lot of money for charity. Well done, sirs!
