As you will know, our school was inspected by OFSTED on 5th and 6th March. I am delighted that I am now able to share the inspection report with you. It was pleasing that the inspection team agreed with our own assessment that St. Peter's continues to be Good overall. We were extremely pleased that they also agreed with us that behaviour and attitudes and personal development at St. Peter's are outstanding. These things are at the heart of what being a great Catholic school should be about.

When you read the report, I hope you will be as pleased as I am that the inspectors recognise what a truly special place our school community is to be part of. I was particularly proud of their statement that "Pupils are free to be themselves in this school. Individuality is embraced." and that "The school is a haven of calm. Pupils have highly positive attitudes towards their learning." This reflects the work staff do to create the extremely positive culture, how well our pupils respond to this and the way they care for and support each other. It also reflects the values of care, respect and striving to be their best version of themselves that you nurture in your children as families and the way that you support our work in school. The areas that inspectors identified for improvement were already part of our School Improvement Plan and we agree that they need to be further developed.

I would like to thank all of our pupils for their role in securing such a positive report; they spoke positively, openly and with pride about their experience of our school during the inspection days, but this reflected their experience throughout their time at St. Peter's. I would like to thank all parents who were able to contribute to the 'Parent View' survey; inspectors shared the results with us and took time to share a sample of the comments you had made. I know that our staff shared with the inspection team how proud they are to work at St. Peters and I would like to thank all of them for the hard work that they do to provide the best possible experience for our pupils. I would also like to thank our Governors for the support and challenge they bring to our school.

As ever, a report is only a 'snapshot' of a school and there is no room for complacency as all schools need to try to continually improve. The work is never complete and there are always new challenges around the corner. I hope that this report assures you that St. Peter's is a great school for your children to be at. I am very proud of it and to have the privilege to lead our school.

Mr A. McGlown
Headteacher
